Campaign - "Viewed message" not work

Hi all,

I'm using the sugar 6.1
I can successfully create and send email campaign in SugarCRM
But I have problem on checking the status on "Viewed Message" in Email Campaign

and i read a thread from here: http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32717
it mentioned the campaign email contains a pixel that triggers the receiver viewed the message.

"By default, the email template for a campaign contains a pixel which you cannot see. When the email recipient downloads images, it is this pixel that triggers that they viewed the message. If a recipient only reads an email they received, but does not download images, they will not be counted as having read the email."

If my SugarCRM is located within the intranet, (not appear on the Internet), does it mean the Viewed Message function would not work? because the receiver cannot trigger the PIXEL from my SugarCRM.???

Yes, your interpretation is correct. If the SugarCRM system is not accessible to users outside of your network, that feature will not work, nor will others for that matter, for example, the tracking of URL click throughs.

So... if i'm going to create a NAT mapping for external user , like ...
http://www.mydomain.com:5000 to http://<internal_IP>/SugarCRM

where should I updated/rewrite the "trigger path" in SugarCRM to "http://www.mydomain.com:5000" ?

Change the site_url setting in your config.php file to match.

Note that this will affect other areas as well, for example, the URL that is included in email alerts to users when a record is assigned to them.
