Campaigns---Cronjob

Hello,
I am using sugarcrmCE 5.2.c. I have set the schedulers working as per to the email campaigns setting suggested by Sugar. When I click on the Send Email button of the campaigns they are being gathered at the Email Queue. They are never being sent until I do it manually, or run the cron job i.e www.abcd.com/cron.php

Operating system-----Linux
Versions:---sugarcrm5.2.c CE
Php:- 5.2.9
Mysql:- 5.1.35
Apache---2.2.3

Can any one give their valuable suggestions.Thank you for your time.
