Can I create Invoices?

Hi there, Im in the process of evaluating ...... and SugarCRM for our company. We have little budget so Im using the CE version.
Basically, Our company sells DVDs and 2 day training courses. I want to be able to create an invoice agaist a contact, it could have a DVD and 2 day course on the same invoice but then to be able to print that out or email it for delivery.
Is there any way of doing this currently? It seems a shame to dump Sugar because it cant do this seeming simple crm task...

Hi Mark,

with CE, there is no out of the box create invoice functionality. This is available with Pro or Ent. You have a few options. You can either check the sugar exchange or sugarforge to see if there are any available plugins for CE. You can always have a module or invoice creation customization created for your CE version, or you can also look at other options (ie: Info@hand is built on the sugar application, but has this feature built in).

Definately cant afford pro version, so I guess its ....... Seems a real shame as Invoicing in the ce would be a killer app, I dont even know where to begin to create my own invoice app.

There doesnt seem to be any app on the exchange so looks like ive hit a dead end with sugar.

There are two invoicing modules available on Sugarforge. Did you check both? Can't say how good they are though.

Really? I searched and cant find any other than a time billing one which isnt really what Im looking for.
What are their names?

We have an invoicing feature in our system which we have built a plug-in for sugar. I have our Plug-in listed on SugarForge, it's called GoToBilling. Let me know as I'm happy to tell you what we have in case it is something you are interested in.

@roblaus I installed both of those, the opensales works fine but the other one doesnt however neither produce invoices. Any thoughts?

@ddurick I would be very interested to hear more? How would I go about doing the same? Really the only feature I am missing is the ability to create and monitor invoices (unpaid, paid, total this month etc)
