I'm trying to import an existing database of contacts into Sugar (Version 5.5) but have encountered an issue with importing data from nonstandard values in the email field. Sometimes these are values worth keeping, as they can include alternate emails or notes on what location the email is for -- but they don't fit proper email syntax.
Is there any way to get Sugar to accept an invalid email on an import into the field, while leaving the normal protection for syntax in place for editing (So they can't add further emails that aren't proper format) or is my only option to go manually through each problem contact and modify the email field? As this would be around a thousand errors to clean up, I'd prefer it if there was a way to get the invalid data into Sugar for now and let people clean them up if they ever modify those records in the future.
Any help would be appreciated.
