Can I receive email directly in Sugar

We recently installed the opensource ( free) version of Sugar for our sales team ( about 3 members). We have so far found it very useful in enquiry, lead and opportunity management. One of the tools that we exetnsively use is Outlook. My question - Is it possible to send and receive emails in Sugar. This will help us better track conversations.

I have already attempted to do this by configuring email settings, but it doesn't seem to work.

You can recieve emails directly in Sugar. All you need is to configure the inbound email settings.

Tried configuring the inbound email settings but to no avail....

i've tried to configure the settings and can't get it to work either. pop server is fine. smtp gets trapped. funny how setting up outlook is a piece of cake. maybe the sugar team should apply more resources to making this turnkey as turnkey as outlook? food for thought.

on the other hand, outlook is such a powerful email app that i expect a lot of users want to stick to outlook. and there is an outlook sync plugin
