Can I send lead to someone that isn't a Sugar user?

I am evaluating SugarCRM for marketing automation purposes only. In our business, it isn't practical for the reps to manage opportunities via a CRM tool. However, I do want the reps to get copied on the leads that come into our website.

That being said, can I create a web form through SugarCRM which brings the lead into SugarCRM, then have the system automatically send that lead VIA EMAIL to a SPECIFIC sales rep BASED ON AREA CODE without that sales rep having to be a SugarCRM user?

Hi, Michael.

At the root of sugarcrm there is a script called leadCapture.php, wich enable creating a sugarcrm lead across a form out side of sugarcrm.
It is right simple to use.
The second question: you can use the PHPMailer of sugar to create a e-mail if recipient and sender any e-mail address, even not stored into sugarcrm database.

Thanks very much, that helps, but I have one remaining question. That is, can the lead email that goes out be intelligently routed to a specific sales reps email address based on the territory they cover?

Hi, Michael.

For sure.

1. You create the custom field area code that could be a dropdown (or you can use the primary_address_state or primary_address_country for that purpose);
2. You define the available values into a dropdown;
3. You create an array where the keys are key of dropdown and the value is an array containing the recipient name and email
4. You create an action that, after saving the lead it create an e-mail to sales rep responsible for that location.


At your form out side the sugar, if you define a drop down with the available keys of dropdown.
