Question can I use Sugar in a B2C model?

    Hi all!

I'm new to Sugar, and I realize that, conceptually it is designed for a B2B model (Bussines to Bussines), therefore, the ACCOUNTS have a one to many relation to Contacts or Leads and becomes essential in the process to sales.

Can Sugar be used in a B2C (bussines to Costumer) model?, that is: only fisical person can buy the products .. and the relation is one to many between CONTACTS and PRODUCT. ( instead of the ACCOUNT figure, a purchaser or CLIENT evolution: lead turns into contact, contact turns into client after buying something.

Can I change the actual relationship between Accounts and lead and contacts without generating a major issue ? (by creating a new module called "Client" or something alike)

I'm still confused... . I read the "Sugar for dummyes book" and.. my conceptual confussion grew up!))

    I´m testing SugarCE ver 5.5.0,

You're correct that sugar is b2b ... if you search these forums you'll find discussions about using sugar in a b2c context ...

    Thank salesagility

Found this thread (http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...+a+b2c+context) ..albeit designed for Sugar 5.1, I'll try to install them in SugarCE 5.5.0 and see the behavior.

I'll try different keys to search in forum, since "B2C" is not enough.

    Hi there,
Whether Sugar (or any other CRM for that matter) functions as B2B or B2C depends on how the account entity is utilised. In a B2B setting the account entity is used as expected, but in a B2C setting one can identify the principal contact/customer as the account e.g. account name becomes "Smith, John Mr" for example. One can then add related contacts in normal fashion. This is a method that was used to model the BBC licence model in the UK, through a Siebel installation.

    Regards
    Andrew
