Can the installation of Sugar affect a local PC?

Question:

If I install SugarCRM remotely on a Web-Server: Can the installation then in any way affect php-based or/and sql-based applications on the PC from where I install from. Or can it affect applications in the network of the PC where I'm installing from?

E.g. when I'm using "localhost" for the localisation of the SQL-Database on my remote-Server it's absolutely sure that modificatiosn are only made on my remote-server?
