Thread: Can the Owner of an Account own all it's contacts?

    Question Can the Owner of an Account own all it's contacts?

    I have setup roles in such a way that only owners can view/edit accounts. When I assign an owner to an account, the user is able to see the account details, but not being able to see the contacts. If I were to assign owners to contacts, it would take for ever for me to do so? Right? please suggest an alternative.

    Also, I would assume that the activities on that account, history on that account is shown to this new user. One of the reasons, I want this to happen is, we transfer accounts from one inside-sales rep to the other.

    Any help on this would solve a great problem for us.

    There is no built-in method for doing it, short of using Mass Update and individual updates, but you could use the logic_hooks capabilities to call some custom code which could update any and all records related to your Account and update their assignment.

    BTW, if I remember correctly, there was some mention of this matter being better addressed in future versions of Sugar.

    Logic_links.. Coding.. I would keep myself out of that now.. as I right now using the as-is version of Sugar. I am not so comfortable doing any programming. But thanks for the tip. I will still look at that option and see how to do that.
