Can someone please tell what a workflow is?

Hi

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I have looked everywhere for the answer to this.... The term workflow is used a lot and it sounds like something I really need to know more about. What is workflow, how does it work and why is it useful? Is it related to distribution of group emails?

Workflow is part of the PRO and Enterprise versions of SugarCRM and it allows you to preform actions based on triggers. Those triggers could be time based or when a new record is created or when a field changes. The actions might be sending an email or setting a fields value.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. Believe it or not such a simple query has been bugging me for days... The reason I couldn't find the answer is I'm using the OS version of Sugar. No wonder it didn't make sense!
