Default Can sugar handle 5 million accounts?

We're looking at moving our business that has an existing database of 5 million customers that will have to be migrated to SugarCRM community edition.
We're currently adding around 70,000 new customers every week
We'll have 200-400 users logged in concurrently doing customer service.

Can Sugar handle that sort of volume?
If so, what kind of infrastructure would be be looking at?

Has anyone heard of other big installs like this out in the wild?

I don't think this is about sugar, but about the infrastructure available to support it.

What kind of database are you planning to use?
What kind of network do you have?
What kind of work will be done? Creating new entries? Query intensive? Campaignes?

I think this are the first questions you need to answer.
At Javali we have a client with something like the module accounts with 50.000 entries, and about 600 users using sugar every day....
We have some related modules and tables with more than 500.000 entries, so we don't think sugar will be your problem...

    Kind regards,
    Mário

Short answer: Yes, quite easily actually.

But the longer answer: Yes, because the underlying technologies can easily maintan 5.000.000 records (MySQL, PHP, Apache, *NX or Windows Server). However, you may find that Sugar's searching, listing and reporting capabilities may be less then optimal working with those kinds of huge databases. Sugar will be a huge cost saving over products with paid licenses. I suggest you invest some of those savings in modifying Sugar to perform better at this task so that the system is not only handling the records, but also remains productive.
