Can sugarcrm help us with our needs?

Hello,

I am new with sugarcrm. I didn’t try it yet, and would like to ask for your opinion if we can use it for our needs.
Your help will be very grateful.

I would like to use to use it to manage the clients who purchased our product.
We need to be able to enter the details of each customer including the product serial number, which we get from a different system.
For each serial number we need to set expiration date, so in time the system will send an auto renew request to the clients via email.

We need to be able to enter the client information via an API not manually (PHP is preferred)

Can we do that with sugarcrm?

Everything you asked is possible to do with SugarCRM. Sugar allows you to create custom fields in which you'll be able to enter your product number and expiration date (or, if you got SugarPro, you could also use the quotes module for this, but its a bit bigger of a tool than you'll need in my opinion). The auto renew might be a little tricky, but at the very least you'll be able to do it via a logic hook. Sugar also comes with SOAP and REST APIs, so you should be able to input data automatically from an external source.

Yes, this is possible. You'd probably be best served by creating a custom module to track the product info.

Lastly, it is possible to add the data programmatically via an API as it includes a REST and SOAP interface.
