Can´t add contact to schedule call

Hi,
I´m a newbie using vers. 5.0. CE and have cust. the Edit and Detail view via studio by adding the contact field to the schedule call. so far so good.
a) If we try to select the contact, the search pop up comes up , no check box appear and click on the link doesn´t transfer the contact.
b) beside the contact information, we want to bring up the phone number to have all Information in one form.

Any idea what I have done wrong?

The ability to link it to a contact is available by default through the use of the Related To options/field. Adding the contact field or other customizations are unnecessary for that task.

As for adding additional information, that would require some custom programming. One potential way would be through the use of a logic_hook that automatically pulls the data for you from the corresponding contact when you save the call. There are other ways I am sure, so you may want to dig around the developer site a bit to see if you find a better/faster approach (http://developer.sugarcrm.com)
