I am moving from Salesforce, can you create Reports in Sugar? There is no Report tab that I can see.

It looks like you are testing with the OS version of Sugar. The OS version unlike the Professional and Enterprise versions does not have an integrated Reporting sytem.
There are though a couple of additional modules from the community or third parites e.g. Jasperreports or Zuckerreports that give you reporting capabilites, although not as easy to use as the integrated Sugar Reporting tool, but maybe more flexible. Hope this helps.

I think perhaps Malcolm meant to say "... unlike the Professional and Enterprise versions ..." - as there is a reporting tool in those versions.
Thanks for correcting my statement, I have now changed it.Originally Posted by longreach

If you are familiar with Crystal Reports, you could also use that tool to create reports based off of Sugar data, even for the open source version.

Cheers,
Hi everyone,
I am new to SugarCRM, but so far I really like the interface and the ease of use. Like many others here I am searching for a reporting module. I've read alot about JasperReports and ZuckerReports. I understand that ZuckerReports is a runtime environment that acts as a module in the open source version. Can anyone tell me if JasperReports is required to run ZuckerReports or if the two are independent? The explanations I've read seem to indicate that ZuckerReports depends on JasperReports, but I just want to get clarification.
Thanks for any help you can give,
Kacie
Can Crystal Reports 'plugin' to Sugar or do you need to move the data manually?Originally Posted by Angel

SugarCRM Version 4.5.0f (Build 1202)
RedHat EL4 64bit
PHP v4.3.9
mySQL v14.7 Distro 4.1.20
Apache v2.0.52

All you need are the MySQL ODBC drivers. You can download them from here:
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/3.51.html
Install those and create a DSN to your Sugar database.
Crystal doesn't really care about the source, as long as you can make a connection to it. After you make the ODBC DSN, you'll be able to add the Sugar database to your Crystal report.

The Short answer is yes you can use Crystal Reports. But you would have to grasp the complex structure of relationships between modules.Originally Posted by Angel
