Unhappy Cannot backup Sugar for import into new system

I have a working SugarCRM on my Windows Vista machine, and everything's working. I installed it at patch level "H", and then successfully backed it up after entering most of the data. Now I upgraded it using the built-in upgrade wizard and uploading the zipped patch files, and it will not backup. I go to backup, and it says "backup directory exists, but is not writeable". I look in the directory, and I see all the directories that it's made, but none of them are writeable. I open and manually give them all the permissions they need, and uncheck the 'read only' box, but it still doesn't work. After applying the property changes and closing the property editor, when I reload it the permissions go back the way they were.

This worked once, and I don't know why it stopped. This happened before and after the upgrade to 5.2.0i.

check the .htaccess file in sugar root directory, perhaps the backup dir is missing or too much protected.

Default I cannot backup Sugar either...

I don't know where to even look for the stuff you mentioned in the reply.

All I know is I am using 5.2.0i and I cannot backup the system.

I have tried specifiying a local HD directory and a local directory and BOTH ARE WRITEABLE. I write and create and delete files there myself with no problem.

But I keep getting that same annoying message "Backup directory exists but is not writeable...They ARE WRITEABLE.

    I need to do this.

Somebody please help me out here.

Just post the .htacces file in suagr root directory here and tell us in which directory you want to make the backup.
