    Default cannot check group email in sugarcrm 5.1

    Dear all,

    I just upgraded sugarcrm from 5.0 to version 5.1
    After quick look I noticed that "Check Mail" and "Synchronize" are not available anymore.
    I read about setting up scheduler to check email and I have added rule to crontab according to sugarcrm recommendation.
    Unfortunately no success. The new mail does not appear in group mail INBOX.
    When I run test it connects successfully and seems to run fine.
    I have no problem with checking personal emails. I also recreated group email and it did not change anything. Still the same problem.
    I assumed that version 5.1 ( not RC) is a production one and I have already deployed it to production environment so I look forward any solutions to fix that issue.

    Details:
    OS: Open Suse 10.2
    SugarCrm ver.: 5.1
    Webserver apache2-2.2.3-20
    PHP: PHP5-5.2.0-10
    Mysql-5.0.26-12

    Hello Greg

    I had the same problem, the issue is that you have to set the cron job up to run periodically not just once.

    Also be careful of username and password

    Lastly - and embarassingly for my head techie, make sure the local ports are open to allow the transit,

    Hi Sharif,

    Thank you very much for your reply.
    I manage email server in the company which sugar is connecting to, so I can see in logs that sugarcrm is connecting succesfully ( with the cronjob) every one minute with the proper user and password. In this case I believe that ports settings are fine.
    Unfortunately no emails appear in group email INBOX.

    I need to start again from scratch. As long as I know it works on other people's systems I will keep working to fix that.

    If anybody else had such issues I appreciate any advices or other spots.

    When I manage to sort it out I will place solution here.

    What is moreover the "Date received" for all emails is exactly the same (date and time of creating group account), although emails are from 3 months ago.
    This is pretty confusing.

    I just installed a fresh instance of sugar on development server. There is no problem with checking or synchronizing emails on Fresh installed SugarCRM 5.1

    This problem occurs only when an upgrade has been done from older version to 5.1 ( in my case from 5.0)

    Is there any path to be released to fix that or is it something wrong with my understanding?

    Hi,

    I had the same problems with 5.1. here is the thread I started that contains the best solution so far I've found...

    sadly, group emails in 5.1 are buggy in my opinion...

    Hi Guys !
    I was facing the sames issues til yesterday. I discovered that in the "Inbound Mail Settings", if you set the "Save Row Source" option to No then the mails are visible.
