    Default Cannot get Outgoing mail configured no matter what I try

    I have been trying to get the Outgoing mail working for two days. Nothing I do seems to work. I have tried both gmail and smtp configurations and neither works.

    I have searched the forums for answers and find none that help. The email address I wan to use is set up on my 1 and 1 mail server and I have the proper SMPT info.

    Any help or direction is greatly appreciated at this point

    I am still looking for help here. This seems to a problem for a lot of people but not a lot of answers here.

    I am running CE new install (week old) Version 6.2.

    Sugar is on my webserver hosted with 1and1 internet.

    I have tried 3 different email accounts, Roadrunner, gmail and my mail server with 1an1, none of them work for outgoing mail. Incoming mail is fine.

    I know all me settings are correct.

    Hopefully someone can help?

    Yes, I am having the same issue, I've tried the same, a Gmail account, and a proxy server, non results?

    any suggestions would be great from someone that has resolved an issue like this.

    Yeah me too.

    Just wondering whether Sugar is actually storing the mail settings.
    I also have tried it with a newly created Gmail account with no luck.

    Hi,
    can you please wirte here , if you are getting any error at sugarcrm.log.
    actaully email settings required correct information which are below.
    1. smtp mail server.
    2. smtp mail port
    3. smtp user name
    4 . smtp password.
    5. using ssl or tls or simple.

    if you have all these information correct , then setup email settings at admin and try to send a test email.

    I don't want to take over Superior Bods post here, but I think any help is good help!

    Firstly I (like Superior Bod) am using the latest download of Sugar CE 6.2.1, I'm based in the UK and are using 1and1 for my hosting. I believe that the servers are actually in Germany.

    The error log is in my post above, but for clarity it’s:

    Sat Jul 23 11:19:00 2011 [16453][1][FATAL] SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server. Code: 111 Reply: Connection refused
    Sat Jul 23 11:19:00 2011 [16453][1][FATAL] SugarPHPMailer encountered an error: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.
    Sat Jul 23 11:19:00 2011 [16453][1][FATAL] SugarPHPMailer encountered an error: An outgoing mail server is not configured to send emails. Please configure an outgoing mail server or select an outgoing mail server for the mail account that you are using in Settings >> Mail Account.


    And to answer your questions:

    1. smtp mail server. auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk
    2. smtp mail port 25 or 587 (I have tried both)
    3. smtp user name emailusername@1and1domain.co.uk
    4 . smtp password. xxxxxxxxxx
    5. using ssl or tls or simple. none

    These are the settings given by 1and1 for UK accounts.

    I have also tried these setting with other suggested SMTP server names with no success e.g.
    mrelay.perfora.net,
    smtp.1and1.com &
    74.208.5.2

    I have tried these settings numerous times in admin email setting and tried sending a test email, the email seems to go but never arrives. Checking the sugarlog I get the error message above.

    "use auth.smtp.oneandone.co.uk
    authentication NOT checked
    username and password empty"

    Seems to work but need to do more checking. Tests on other 1and1 setups would be a help.

    Here is the setup thats (still?) working.



    1and1 are a pain in the **** but its by far the least pain.
