cannot save changes in studio

I am in Studio > Accounts > Subpanels > Contacts and when I make a change, and hit Save and Deploy, it reverts back to default

You may want to double check the permission settings for your <sugar>/custom folder. It sounds like Sugar is having problems copying files to the appropriate locations, which is usually indicative of a permissions issue.

nope, went to <sugar> custom and chmod 777 the index (only one file in that folder)...still cannot save changes....

That seems to confirm what I said in my prior post.

<sugar>/custom should have more than one file if you have made changes like the ones you've described. It should contain a directory named "working" and another one named "modules" at bare minimum.

If they are not there, the web user is having problems creating them. You might need to do a chown -R on the Sugar directory.

Also take a look at your PHP and Sugar log files for further clues.
