can't add email address to contact or account

For some reason I can no longer add email address to a contact or account

When I add the address it displays "Checking for existing email entry... "

and then wont let me save

After much hair pulling I found this was caused by the titlechanger module

Removed it and now all workng

Hi,

I'm on SugarCRM 5.2. I'm having the same issue, but unlike you, I don't have a module to blame it on.

Maybe I should install the titlechanger module and then remove it to kick the system into doing something.

Hi guys,

We were able to resolve this issue on one other post here. I just can't find it right now.

We trashed the whole modules folder and then uploaded a fresh one from the version package. The recommend backing up any custom modules you may have installed but basically uploading the whole modules folder from an extracted copy of the sugarCRM package you're using.

This worked for me and my site is using sugarcrm 5.2 from an upgrade of 5.1b

If you are not able to upgrade to 5.2 so copy this file into include/SugarEmailAddress/SugarEmailAddress.js

i am also having the same problem but i can make the change as an administrator i have checked the privileges but there all the same as mine any ideas

I am running into the same problem with a little different flavor. If users have admin priviliges then they are able to add emails to an account or contact but if they are not an admin then we get the message that the system is checking if the email exist and it spins.
,
any ideas what is going on. I do not have a module titlechanger to remove.
