Can't add email address when adding contact

Hi

I have been using Sugar CRM for a couple of months and it works perfectly fine. Since last week I am not able to add email addrees when adding a contact and when I do that it gives me a javascript error. I have updated sugar and am sitll getting the problem. The count of email addresses are 200 in the system.

Is that a problem. Can you please suggest how I can solve this problem?

check your email format. and try to insert you email address.

Thanks CRMbalah and roblaus but the below solutions are not working. The email address format is correct and no one in my company can add any email address from their account.

I am not sure but the problem seems to be in the javascript used to verify the existing email addresses.

Usually things do not appear out of the blue so the first question must be: what was changed shortly before you encountered this problem for the first time?

Secondly: Which version of Sugar are you using, which OS etc.

There was once a problem like this but it was fixed long time ago (I am not sure but I believe it was an early 5.0 version).

I get the same problem. Since patching to 5.2.0.i I am not able to add e-mail adresses. The systems feeds back "Checking for existing email entry....." and the only way to save the contact is to delete the e-mail address again.
I run now on 5.2.0.j, PHP 5.1.6.
A solution would be great.

I am also experiencing this issue, and I am running 5.2.0j. I have successfully imported contacts with email, but cannot manually add a contact.

I have the same issue. From where is it possible to disable the email checking and would it be a good idea ?

Okey, i think i did manage to work it for me. I disabled checking in htdocs\jssource\src_files\include\SugarEmailAddres s\SugarEmailAddress.js and int \htdocs\include\SugarEmailAddress\SugarEmailAdress .js (in both just in case ) by commenting out line : "newContent.onblur=retrieveEmailAddress;" Now its not using javascript to check the email. It may produce some mistakes, but atleast now i can add contacts and accounts

Just had the same issue on SugarCRM Pro 5.5.1. Repaired JavaScript files and it is now working.

Admin > Repair > Rebuild JS Compressed Files
