Does it get stuck in this position, or does the position happen just as you try to click save once you lose focus to the email address field?

If its the latter, this is normal Sugar functionality. You simply need to lose focus on the field first (click somewhere else on the form) before you try to save. Sugar does some Ajax on the email field, so you can't save while the Ajax is processing, however you should be able to save after.

If its the former, it'd be nice to look through your sugarcrm.log for any errors that pop up that may bring light to what may be erroring in the background.
