    Default Can't Add Portal Fields

    Hello to all.

Today, sugar is giving me a headache that should be simple to solve, but nothing is working. I need to add the "Portal" panel to my contact information, which contains the "portal name" and "portal active" options. The thing is that this panel is apparently already active, but won't show up on "edit" or "add" in contact information, which basically renders it useless.

I've published it in Editlist, Detailview; everywhere and it still won't show up. I also tried it on a WAMP local server to see if maybe server permissions were getting in the way, but still the same result.

Is there a step I'm missing in order to fix this little bug? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Make sure that your installation is backed up first.

Try changing the name of the metadata files for the views to restore them to the defaults (and back them up)

    go to ./custom/modules/Contacts/metadata/editviewdefs.php

    rename to something like

    ./custom/modules/Contacts/metadata/editviewdefs.php.bak

    Repeat for detailviewdefs.php

This will back up your customizations, while restoring the default defs (because SugarCRM isn't reading them).

Another option is to view the default defs in ./modules/Contacts/metadata/editviewdefs.php and find Portal Name/Password in the code and put it back into the above custom view defs.

Hopefully I understood your question correctly.

    Thank you for your help!

It seems correct that sugar isn't reading the "Portal Name" or "Portal Active". I tried your advice to changing the edit and view php file to bak and it slightly worked, but not entirely.

A quick reference as to the result would be:

    "IN THE EDIT BUTTON"

(EMPTY SPACE)"Where Portal Name should be" (EMPTY SPACE)"Where Portal Active should be"
(My own creation field)"Shows up in view, but cannot be edited or added"

I can see the fields, but why are they empty or uneditable?

Any other ideas as to how to fix this?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hey are you the varguy from the blog? I hope so! thats cool! I like your blog!

So basically what I had you do is remove all customizations that you created on your EditView.

If you go back to Admin-> Studio-> Your Module -> Layouts -> Edit View, you should be able to re-add your field.

Does that make sense? Am I understanding your problem correctly? Maybe you could send a screenshot

Sorry, not varguy. Just Blees and VGuy.

Anyway, here are some screenshots for better orientation of the problem.

I followed the steps and added the fields.

But this is the result, in circles they are missing while the underlined one appears, but cannot de added and is not editable.

    Any ideas?

    Hello,
Excuse me, but I have just a little and simple question :

are you using the open source or the professionnal/enterprise edition ?

I have read "Portal" can only be actived using the professionnal/enterprise edition .

    Is that correct ?

    Thanks
