When I select a few leads and choose export, it creates a CSV with the header row only and no leads. It seems to work fine when exporting Accounts, but not leads. Any ideas??
I'm using Version 5.0.0b (Build 3150).
When I select a few leads and choose export, it creates a CSV with the header row only and no leads. It seems to work fine when exporting Accounts, but not leads. Any ideas??
Also, when I select a lead and choose export, it tells me I need to select atleast 1 record to proceed. I have chosen 1 record. I don't get it.
I have determined that the Leads module is just plain broken. When I try to delete a lead from the list view, nothing happens. When I do a mass update, none of the selected records are changed, and a new BLANK lead is created. Is there a way to repair the leads module without reinstalling everything and losing all of my settings?
Please help!!
Did you by chance do any customization of the Leads module? Did you add a relate field?
If so these are the likely culprits. What does you DB look like? Does it have the data it is supposed to have? Double check the header values correspond to the assigned fields names and database fields.
What version and OS are you using, what DB? If you can check the actual SQL calls to see what is going on. Make sure you logging is on so you can see.
With a bit more info we might be able to get to the bottom of this. BTW why do you need to export the data? if its for backups, there is a better way.
Thanks Paris
I do not know if this info helps but with 5.0.0b CE using the default theme, with no customizations to the leads module, I can select all leads and export them.
I do remember with 5.0a, I got a blank CSV file when I tried to export these but I did do some customizations to that module. However, I did not do a thorough investigation as to the possible cause. All I know is I no longer have the problem.
I hope this helps you get closer to a solution.
I have the exact same problem. I cant export any leads and when I try to mass update leads it doesn't work but creates a new, completely blank lead. I have also had problems deleting leads from the list view.
I have added custom fields to the leads module. I have also modified the list view in studio. I have made no code changes (wouldn't know how!)
I need these custom fields and I need to be able to export leads to print labels for mailers.
My setup is shown in my sig. below.
Anyone got any ideas what causes this? It's going to make marketing very had work until it's fixed!![]()

There is a bug in Sugar 5.0 with the Leads module where the Account field has an incorrect vardef definition. This problem is causing havoc with most everything around the Leads module (import, export, mass update, reports, etc).
See this thread for fixing the problem. This issue will be fixed in the 5.0.0 patch C.

Thanks Clint,
I'll read that thread and see if I can fix it.
Do you have any idea when patch 'C' is expected? I'm a bit worried about a bodger like me messing about with the code!![]()

Okay folks - thanks to considerable and patient help from Clint I now have an answer.
1. Make sure you have the latest version 5.0.0.b
2. Change the array in vardefs.php as per Clint's instructions in the link two posts up.
3. Go to admin - repair and do a quick repair.
4. Change the order of the fields in your list view so that 'User' is no longer the last field in the list.
Worked for me, post your success/failure so the clever developer guys know if it worked for you too.![]()
Good luck.
