can't find cases assigned to one user - all others ok

If I manually browse through cases, I see cases assigned to this particular user, but when searching for them (logged in as her or as admin) they don't show up. All other users cases show up as expected when searching.

This same user had the same problem once before and I was able to fix it by creating a new login then transferring the cases. This time it didn't work. Any ideas please????

It seems to be an user preference issue.
Log in with this "buggy" user and reset its preferences.
Log off and log in.
Try search the cases again.

I appreciate the quick response, but I don't see how it could be user preferences when the problem still occurs even when I'm logged in as admin, and even when I created a brand new user (which should be default preferences, yes?) and logged in under that user before she had any chance to change preferences. Something has apparently happened to those cases but I cannot figure out what...???
