Can't modify roles

Hi everyone.

I have a strange problem. I am unable to modify my roles from the default value of "not set". When I checked the database for the tables dealing with roles, they all seem to be empty. Other than that, the system works perfectly. I am using SugarCRM CE Version 5.5.0 (Build 6653). My instance of SugarCRM is hosted by Hostica. From what I could glean, they use:-

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)
Apache 1.3.41
PHP 5.2.9
MySQL 5.0.77

Any ideas on how this might be sorted out?

Hello,

Do you have admin permissions?
Did you change roles before?

Permissions were a problem during the initial upgrade to 5.5.0 but I believe I overcame this by modifying a couple of lines that determine permissions (I think) in config.php before running install. I got the information somewhere in this forum. Also all other operations and modules seem to run perfectly.

I've never tried to modify roles after upgrade until now. It seemed to work with former versions using the same hosting service I currently use.

I have the same problem.
I can create roles OK but when I try too set permissions, which are all set to 'Not Set', I click on the 'Not Set' and I get a drop-down list. If I try to use the drop-down list, the editable region reverts back to 'Net Set' (uneditable).

I am using Google Chrome.
One way I got round it was to use the TAB button to tab to the field (once editable), then use the arrow keys to adjust the setting. This worked.

I tried doing the same operation in Firefox and this worked absolutely fine.
Must be a WebKit issue.
