Can't save calls and appointments

Dear members,

After installation of SugarCRM 5.5 and 6.0 it isn't possible to save my calls and appointments. Everything else in both versions is working well. Does this problem sounds familiar to someone? It happens in both IE8 and FF

In version 5.5 it is only possible to save calls or appointments when I make use of the fields in de left shortcut sidebar.

After some nights of testing with permissions and different browsers there are some changes:

On my mac and iPhone I have no problems at all with adding calls or appointments.
On a windows machine it isn't possible to add calls or appointments.

I tried a lot with changing right of files but nothing resulted in a solution. Is someone familiar with this problem?

I am having the exact same problem. On a mac, no problem. On a windows 7 machine on either IE or firefox, regardless of the user permission settings, I can't create an appointment or call. Not sure why this is working, but I can verify it is occurring.

Would love to see some resolution on this matter.

I also found out something new!

When I can't save calls or appointments, the timeline below isn't visible. Maybe these problems have a connection. I think it's something with permissions, but I don't know the solution...

I have been playing with this all weekend, and I can't figure out a solution. It does seem to only affect Windows machines, whether Windows 7 or XP. Anyone have an idea on how to solve this?

Is anyone familiar with some difference between the way a browser on a Microsoft computer and an (other) browser would operate? My assumption would be since the activities are happening server-side, all one would have to do is push a button and save information loaded, but it could be that something in the browser is not allowing information to be posted to the server. Sort of like the IE autofill glitch a while back, where it looked like information was listed in the form but not. However, since I'm not using autofill, and even inputting just random information into the fields, it would seem as if it should work fine.

Again, since some of the fields are required, I should get an error if it is blank, so I believe the information is being posted, or at least attempting to be, but is never showing up in the database.

afranks, could you tell me if you see any errors in the left bottom corner of IE? I've got a total of 6 errors in the files:

/include/jsolait/init.js?

/modules/Meetings/jsclass_scheduler.js
and
/include/javascript/jsclass_base.js


These errors are in Dutch, maybe you can post them in English?

I also can't create a note or attachment in IE, but I can in Firefox.

I've got almost the same errors. Some difference in lines but the same files. I think we have to solve those issues??!!

I agree, I fixed the create a note or attachment issue with a Java update to the computer, but the activities bug still persists.
