    Unhappy Can't save contact or lead with email address

    Gaaahhh
    Surely this error is not widespread, but when I try to manually add a contact or lead, or anything with an entry for an email, a label appears to the left that says, "Checking for existing email..." and it stays forever, and I can't save the contact.

    Obviously, I can't send emails to this lead/contact without an entry in that field.

    This is a huge issue for me!

    Please provide the SugarCRm version, the PHP/MySQL/Webserver versions too. Please also give more detail about how long you have been using sugar and whether you have loaded any modules or customised it.

    Ok, the version is 5.2.0j
    this is basically a fresh install with no customizations on a hosted solution.

    Can you reproduce this issue logged in with an admin user and also a regular user?

    Yes, I cannot save anything with an email addy no matter user or admin logged in.

    Update: I have found a workaround in that the Leads main page has a short-form add lead in the left-hand menu, which allows me to add a lead with an email address. This means that the Ajax function on the full lead page is definitely the problem. How can I disable or correct this (I can write code, just need to know where...)
