Can't see leads or opportunities that another user has created

I can't see any leads or opportunities that our sales guy has added to sugar. He can see everything he has added as can another user. For some reason niether I or another collegue can see any leads or opportunities at all. I have checked all users configuration and they all seem to be the same. Any ideas would be much appriciated.

Check the role assigned to the sales guy and you. May be roles are different. Or the sales guy may be provided with admin rights.

Check to make sure that everyone belongs to the same Team (eg Global). Look at the Team field. Clear any search filters. Assigned To is technically not used for visibility, but may be part of a filter search.
