    Default Can't send Campaign message

    I have loaded SugarCRM 4.5.1e and now I am not able to send emails via a campaign. If I try to send test or the actual message send, I receive the screen where I choose which message to send, and after checking it, click the "send" button. After a moment the screen comes back and has unchecked my selection and nothing has been processed for transmission.

    I'm having a similar problem. I click on send, and I'm trying to send it out to three people. I get an error message from my hosting provider that says I cannot send out more than 100 emails per hour - and that's it.

    I don't receive any such error and I am running my own server so I would never have this 100 limit in place. I tried fixing the inbound email accounts as noted in another forum and I had to manually fix them, but it did not resolve this new error. I have not been able to send a campaign email without issues for three months now. Previously it was changing the links in my emails but this release is supposed to fix that issue if I could just get it to send anything now.

    Hello all,

    I just tried to reproduce this problem but couldn't-- here are the steps I took:

    1) created two Leads with different e-mail addresses
    2) created a Target List and added both Leads
    3) visited the Campaign Wizard and was prompted to setup a bounce-handling e-mail account/outgoing e-mail account
    4) visited the Campaign Wizard (again) and chose to 'Save and Continue' at the 'Subscriptions' step, then finished filling out the details
    5) chose the Campaign from the ListView and clicked the 'Send Test' button

    At this point, I checked my inbox and found that the e-mails had been sent. This is on a clean install of Sugar Open Source 4.5.1e.

    Did you follow a different process? Maybe you used the 'Create Campaign (Classic)' interface instead of the Campaign Wizard.

    My campaign was created way back early when SugarCRM could first do campaigns. I recreated it recently I think with 4.5 and it was working but since 4.5.1 I had trouble with the links being altered so the email went to receipients, but did not work. Now with 4.5.1e I can't send at all.

    I set up a new test campaign to see if that helped but it didn't. My server is running Mac OS X 10.4.10 with MySQL 5.0.37, PHP 5.2.1, Zend Optimizer, Apache 1.3.

    If you would like to have an admin account to log in and test it on my server let me know. As I said everything was fine minus the truncated urls with previous 4.5.1 patches.

    Hello ElgertS,

    Go ahead and PM me the details to login. If I'm not able to diagnose the problem quickly, I'd suggest you buying a single-incident support case to get it fixed (only since this does not appear to be a general problem with 4.5.1e).

    I just updated another SugarCRM install to 4.5.1e this one running at Bluehost and I was able to send fine, so I guess there is something going on with this install since the upgrade to 4.5.1e. I will try turning on the debug function and see what I can find unless you turn up something when you check into it.

    In case it is useful to anyone, the truncation issue is definitely resolved in this version. I was going to paste an example but the forum truncates them as well. Basically versions 4.5.1a - 4.5.1d all truncated my urls by turning the word "content" into just "c". 4.5.1e leaves it as "content"

    Now I just have to find out why my particular server is not sending messages from campaigns, though it sends emails in other areas with no problem.

    I get this error when I try to send a test message to a campaign:

    Undefined variable: isDuplicate in /Library/WebServer/Documents/www/sales/include/formbase.php on line 221

    Update: this does not seem to be repeatable in the log file so may not be related.

    I found that the bounce account I have for this campaign lost some of its settings with the 4.5.1e update. I added the From name and From address but that still did not fix the send failure. Prior to this change, it was showing nobody@example.com, even though when editing the inbound mail account it shows valid default values off to the side of the text fields.
