    Default Can't sync to Gmail

    To any brilliant SugarCRM geniuses out there... can you help?

    I'm a new SugarCRM user.

    I'm using CE Ver 6.1

    I have IMAP enabled in gmail

    My installation is running on Apache / Linux / mySQL

    I'm trying to configure an email account via the emails > settings > mail accounts dialogue box

    I can't connect and get the following results. There's a snapshot of my settings attached. I used the Gmail Prefill option.

    Any suggestions?

    Have you configure gmail for imap in gmail settings.

    Hi Thanks, yes I have already done that:

    "I do have IMAP enabled in gmail"

    BTW - I keep finding all my answers to SugarCRM community edition issues on sites other than this forum. That's a shame and a lost opportunity for SugarCRM I think.

    Problem solved thanks to this gent - SugarCRM Expert. It is to do with a firewall setting at my host. Port 993 was locked down.

    Hello,
    I have the exact same issue. I've tried for weeks now to set up gmail with SugarCRM. I was successful with SMTP and I can now send emails. However I can't for my life configure IMAP. I've searched everywhere without success. I have shared hosting with JustHost and they just told me there's no blocking of port 993 from their end.

    Has anyone ever been successful to configure Gmail with JustHost? Is there any other possible setting I may have missed??

    Presumably you have turned 'Allow IMAP' on in Gmail? If you have SMTP working, it sounds as though that's the issue.

    I have IMAP enabled. Actually, I have no problem with GMail on a local installation.
    I don't really know what else to check, besides different hosting...

    Hi, I just wanted to log here for any other users with the same troubles in Justhost.com, that the problem has been finally solved. It WAS a firewall setting they had to change to allow for ports 995 and 143 to communicate with Gmail's IMAP server. After many support tickets and support chats they were able to understand what the issue was. Now I can finally sync directly to GMail without bizarre workarounds like having all mail being forrwarded to another account that could be accessed by Sugar.
