    Default Can't upload a new Logo

    Greetings folks,

    I have an odd issue... I can't load a new logo into my Sugar 5.0.0b install. It appears to be some sort of validation problem, so maybe someone can tell me how to disable the validation or something.

    When I browse for my logo and select "C:\Documents and Settings\nathan\My Pictures\Sugar\sugar_logo.png" I get the following message:
    Code:
    file format of the image must be JPEG or PNG.  Upload a new file with the extention .jpg or .png.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi Nathan,

    On which OS you installed? In my case, the problem occured on linux platform, but no problem on Windows.
    Here is my temp way to get it solved:
    By hand to change the logo directly to :
    theme\<YOUR SELECTED THEME>\image\xxx.png

    It seems a bug now sugarman is dealing with.

    It's a bug in the current version 5.0.0b.
    Sugar tries to open the file which should be loaded on the SERVER to determin the file type.
    Copy the file to the same directory as your client directory and all will run.

    Thanks, this is on an Ubuntu server, so I replaced the file within the theme like you suggested.

    themes/(theme name)/images/company_logo.png

    Make sure you fix it in other themes that may be used as well. Watch out for the naming as suggested int eh other forum link.

    It is actually not being worked on by Sugar. They claim they can not reproduce this bug.

    It will not be fixed in the next patch release.

    The function that loads logos checks the image's path: basically, if the logo is not on the same machine as Sugar's, it cannot be found.
    It's a bug of course, but it's not a blocking one and there is a way to change logo manually: that's why (I guess) it's not being solved in 5.0.0_chile release.
    What do you think the cookie monster eats ?
