OK, I've read anything I can find on-line, and I've even looked in "SugarCRM for Dummies" which I'm beginning to resent having paid for.

When setting up a campaign, I can understand the logic of Sugar being able to tell me how often and maybe even who has clicked on my URL.

But how does it know?

If I tell it the tracker URL is www.some-page-on-my-website.com, then just HOW does sugar expect to find out when anyone clicks on the link?

OR!!!

If it makes a link that is, say, "www.mySugar.com/targetXYZ" which records the "hit" then transparently forwards the click on to www.some-page-on-my-website.com, then - that's neat - but - what if I want to be able to create such a link in an email NOT being generated by Sugar? Can I tell what the resulting URL is or do I ahve to create the campaign then send myself a dummy test email to see what teh link is, then paste taht into the real email which is being sent out by the list broker?

The book say "just put the URL in here and Sugar will do the rest" well, clever sugar, but actually, I doubt it...
