The problem may be due to you have searched on some criteria in the listview and not cleared the search. So, click on the Clear button in the search and check whether your record is there

Use Studio to create a custom field. You can find studio in Admin -> Developer Tools -> Studio.
Yes, I have gone upto that.What is the next steps for doing so?
Place the Created field in EditView and DetailView and click "Save & Deploy" in the both. You can do this in studio itself.
