    Question Cases "Account" requirement

    The problem I am having is with the Cases module requiring an Account. I removed the requirement of this field but in doing so when I create a Case now it doesn't show up in the ListView. I have found that if I do enter in a Account name then the case will show up in the LIstView. Does anyone know where in the code the ListView page is checking for a null Account value and then not displaying the Case in the ListView. I have been commenting out various sections with no luck so far.

    I am using v 4.2.1b

    please enlighten me

    A common workaround to this problem is to create a generic account, such as "Individuals" to which all the contacts that do not have an account could be linked. Thus, when you create a case, you could link it to the "Individuals" account and later, link it to the appropriate contact.

    That would also save you the trouble of digging into the code.

    I created a similar account field...... because most of my "cases" as an admin person are related to keeping Sugar working for users. So I just made a compnay account to track Sugar problems and fixes for users - which have contact numbers, but are not customers.

    Hello All!

    I was just trying to get the cases working for our tech guys but we are noticing that when I open a ticket up (as admin or any other user) that none of the tech crew can see the cases when they look for them. In fact, searching by case number or any other field returns nothing. I have a very new/fresh install of Sugar with no mods or anything and I have done my due diligence and looked about the docs but can't seem to find any way to manage cases...does anyone here have any leads to a quick "how-to" on getting the cases module up and running? Thanks!!!

    Are you able to see the cases if you login as admin?

    Who are the cases assigned to?
