    Default Certificate failure for localhost

    Hi,

    this is my first post.

    OS: SME Linux server
    SS: SugarSuite-Full-4.2.1b

Installation was a bit tricky but ok. But I do not understand this error. When I input my production server data in "Inbound Email Settings" and push "test button" all is ok. When I try input local server data I get this error:

Certificate failure for localhost: self signed certificate: /C=--/ST=----/L=Newbury/O=UAB Krantechna/CN=crm.krantechna.lt/emailAddress=admin@crm.krantechna.lt

Please check your settings and try again.

How I can get ride of this? Or I can ignore this - all will be fine with my e-mails?

I can not find answer in forums. Thank you.

    AV

We get the same problem here

Certificate failure for localhost: self signed certificate: /C=--/ST=SomeState/L=SomeCity/O=SomeOrganization/OU=SomeOrganizationalUnit/CN=localhost.localdomain/emailAddress=root@localhost.localdomain

Even though the overview properties page shows the validate certificate option as being off, weird.

We are running this on a Fedora Box with IMAP (cyrus), standard IMAP port. The certificate is self signed, and IMAP works for other mail clients (such as Thunderbird and Evolution) otherwise.

Same problem here. SSL is not activated and it doesn't matter if we choose IMAP or POP3. It had been working for several months without any problems (before the last patch "update").

Any luck with this one ?

Besides I have an SMTP problem in sending when I moved my local Sugar installation over to web server, I also encountered this problem on the mail receiving.

    OK,

I got it solved. In my case I made my production db an exact copy of my test box, which worked basicly fine after configuring config.php.

In my server copy I then had this cerficate problem.

I removed the mail account and made a new one with exactly same settings and that cleared it.

I can only guess that if you copy your environment from place to another along with cache etc. instead of installing it from a scratch, you get this kind of things...

    Still working on that SMTP....

Question Re: Certificate failure for localhost

    Hi,

I tried again to create a mail account. Exactly with the same server etc. settings as usual, only user data was different, of course.

However, I got this certificate issue back again.

Now, why is SugarCRM even trying to check this certificate -thing when in no-SSL connection ?

Or does this error msg. pop-up window only transmit messages from mail server ? In which case I could start looking for the problem in there.

This problem is making me mad!
Please, can someone solve this problem?

What code is doing this check. What lines should I change.

Question Re: Certificate failure for localhost

This seems to be especially typical with webhotels. They have their certificates, OK, but e.g. in my case my smtp server address is in a form mail.mydomain, which of course is different than what's in the certificate.

Still I don't understand why it's been checked in general ?

Now, I have this very same problem whether I try to contact it either with MS Outlook, N95 mail client or SugarCRM mail client. So some others do the checking as well.

The difference is that the others ask whether the user wants to continue anyway despite of mismatch in certificate, but SugarCRM's stupid mail client just stops there.

Could someone pls. at least suggest a code change to add a "continue anyway" -option in relevant places.
