Default Change a custom field's type

I created a custom field called "website" for targets, leads and contacts.

Thing is, I set this field as free text, so we have to copy&paste the URL to open the website.

I would like to make these website addresses clickable, and just found that I can create a URL field.

But, I don't feel like going through our 600 existing entries and manually copy the URL from the "free text website" to the "URL website" fields.

Is there a way to convert a field type, in my case from free text to URL?

    TIA
