Change Edit View across all modules to match Detail View?

Hi-

I'm in Community Edition 5.2.0j on my own server and have a question about Edit View:

We have a lot of custom fields and labels we're using.

We want to edit records with the fields showing in the same layout as they are in Detail View but don't wish to manipulate the Edit view layout in the Studio every time we change or add labels.

Is it possible to manipulate the Edit View across all modules at once so that when "Edit" is clicked it automatically takes to an editable version of the Detail View?
