I am using SugarCRM 6.1.3 Community Edition. I am completely new at this. Can someone please tell me why are the changes made in the EditView not reflected in the DetailsView?

That's normal behavior.
All the views work independent of each other as there are some important workflow scenarios that require it.
For example, you might want to display a field on the DetailView (read only) to your users, but at the same time, not allow them to modify its contents. Including it on the detailview, but omitting it from the EditView would permit you to do that.

In SugarCRM 6.2 version you fill find functionality to simultaneously edit both views from studio. There is a checkbox to set if you need to save your changes in both views.
Thank you Angel and webcrmtechnologies. I really appreciate it.
