    Default Changing the port number

    Hi,

I have 2 servers - one that runs our main web server on port 80 and another that runs our secondary web server on port 88. I am trying to install Sugar CRM opensource using the bitrock installer on the secondary server but i am not able to configure it to run on port 88. I tried chaning the apache conf file, but when i did that, the entire application stopped working and i had to run a reinstall. can someone tell me how i can get sugar crm to run on port 88, instead of port 80?

    OS: Windows XP Professional
    Web server: Apache 2.x
    PHP, MySQL

    Thanks!

    Ani.

I have the exact same setup.

All I did was to change the httpd.conf file so that listen=80 becomes 88.

restart apache or reboot if that is easier and all works AOK.

Thanks for the reply. But can someone verify this? because I've suffered once and really would not like to run a complete reinstall all over again.

    Thanks!

I don't use the Bitrock installer, but I have quite a lot of experience with Apache and this should work fine.

Alternatively tou could install with port 80 and then change the port afterwards, and then restart Apache.

PS) You could also use port 8080, which is assigned for http-alternate.

Thanks for the reply. Will give it one more try then. Not sure what I did wrong last time round, but let's hope this works!

    Thanks.
