Checkmail issue

OS: Fedora Cofre 6
Sugar Version: 5.2.0d CE
php version: 5.2.8
Mysql version: 5.0.45
IMAP server: Lotus Notes
Problem:
Checkmail button, nor the automated every 5 minute checkmail do not work.
Synchronize mailbox does work.

When you click on Checkmail, it pretends to be checking for new mail, but no new mail shows up.
Just waiting, even though the check every 5 minute option is selected in imap settings, does nothing either.
Right clicking on the mailbox and doign checkmail also does not bring in new emails.
Synchronize mail on the other hand, DOES work. If I right click on the folder, and hit synchronize all the emails show up. I was having the AUTH=PLAIN error, but I fixed that.

I actually have the exact same problem in the latest version of 5.1c. I was hoping 5.2.d would fix it, but it has not.

I have done some testing, and I think I've narrowed down the problem.

It seems to have to do with my mail server. I'm running lotus notes domino as our mail server. It really doesn't have alot of IMAP settings that can be set.

I did a test, using hmail and checkmail works fine when I connect to IT using the sugarclient.
The problem is that other imap clients seem to work with lotus domino just fine. I used outlook, outlook express, Thunder and they all worked just fine.

Is it possible it's something to do with pre-fetch?

I'm having the same issue, have you found a solution to this yet? I had the same problem with Godaddy.com mail server then I switched to linux dedicated server which uses PostFix mail server but it didn't fix anything.
