Closed Calls Still Showing On Call List

We are using SugarCRM 5.5 and in some cases calls that have been closed remain on the Call List in the Activities tab. I can see that the items are already closed because the Close x box is not showing. Ideally, we would like for calls to be removed from the Call List once they have been closed. Are we doing something wrong or is there a setting that needs changing?

Calls need to stay where they are because under normal circumstances you want to see them later on as part of the history subpanel.
Just create a view which shows you open calls only.
