    Default Company Logo Problem

Check out my attachment. I changed the logo to my custom company logo and this is what it looks like. The original is red and PERFECT quality at the currently shown size. I edited the header.html to achieve this. I also changed the width to 168 and the height to 102 in order to have my logo look the way it is meant to look.

Consider yourself lucky. After the update I can't even get mine to display.

Sugar is probably streching your picture therefore lowering the quality.

I think you missed a spot where the picture size needs to be adjusted.

Alright...Well I decreased the size by 1/2 and it's too small and a little pixelated still...Someone from Sugar is going to be doing a Sugar demo for my execs and business development team over the next few days so I will talk with him.

    Cool Re: Company Logo Problem

It has nothing to do with Sugar..

Take a moment to install a decent graphics editor on your computer, if you haven't one already..
(myself, I've always stuck with PSP in place of Photoshop and GIMP for linux)..

It's no simpler than just a combination of your resolution and actual pixel width and heigth of the image file..

Resolution and actual width & heigth, are your problem and solution.. \
Go google it for more detailed info on editing graphics files if you're not real familiar with such, though you
should be able to figure it out as you go, if you were to use a decent graphics editor in which allowed maniuplation of both resolution and width & heigth (pixel wise)..

Just open the old/original graphic file in order to find out it's properties, then create a new graphic file with those same properties OR, with the original graphic file open in the editor you could just paint/roll/clear (etc.) the entire graphic some solid color such as white, then set that as the transparency color, and paste your image on top of it... .... just spend an half hour playing with a decent graphics editor and the original graphic file and you'll get it...

I might reccomend using the Gimp for Windows if you don't want to pay for Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro. The key to understanding graphics in the web is that the web can resize your graphics up or down. Scaling graphics up produces the pixelation that you see. To set the logo to the proper size you need an image size of 212x40 pixels and a resolution of minimum of 72 dpi(dots per inch) for screen display. I reccomend a resolution of 100 to 150 dpi so that it will look good in both print and onscreen without much loss in quality. for Print quality you will need at least 300 dpi or better.

I can't get the company_logo.png file to show up at all using Internet Explorer. But, it show fine in FireFox.

I have the correct file size (212 x 40) and I know I have it in the right locations. Obviously, I must if it shows up correctly in Firefox.

So what needs to be fixed so that it renders in IE? Any ideas?

Actually, it is resolved by adding the following:
    HTML Code:
    width="212" height="40"
at the point, almost exactly half way through the /themes/[your theme]/header.html file, at the point where the company_logo.png file is called. I put it before the border="0" statement and it now works for Internet Explorer as well as Firefox.
