Default Compose using external mail client (Outlook)

Hi, I'm trying to setup Sugar to use Outlook as the email editor for outgoing mail.
I do not need any additional Outlook integration at this stage, just want to use the mail editor.

I've set the User Email Defaults in the Admin module to "External Mail Client".

This has no effect on the operation of the email editor.

When I compose a new email, the system still defaults to the internal email editor.

Any ideas of how I can have Sugar launch the Outlook email editor instead?

    Current version:
    Version 4.5.0h (Build 1239)

    Thanks

Verify that you have selected Outlook as your E-mail application on the Programs tab of that computer's Internet Options.

    Thanks Angel,

Yes I've verified that Outlook is my default editor in Explorer, so that's not the problem.
Have you used this configuration successfully?

Yes, it works fine on my end.

What happens if you go to Start > Run and type in "mailto:none@example.com" and hit OK/Enter?

    Hi again,

    Running mailto:none@example.com launches Outlook.

Unhappy Re: Compose using external mail client (Outlook)

    Hi,

I'm trying the method mentioned, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there any other setting that I've missed out?

You set the value in your Admin -> Email Settings. However, if you (or your users) have set a different value in "My Account", it will override the system-level setting.

Change yours in My Account and let us know if that fixes the issue.
