The simplest way without cutting code would be to group the modules and use the subpanel navigation to navigate between them.

Use the development toolkit that Andropes has developed! It works with Sugar 5.x no matter what version.

Take a look at his examples and the instructions. You should be able to implement. He is planning to bring out a GUI for this at a reasonable cost. Looking forward to it.
One thing I can tell Sugar 5.5 is going to have issues with is the panel labeling. May need to do your customization and set up in Studio and then hack the detailview.php etc files to correct any panel naming issues. Make sure to get them correct. He has given a couple of goo examples to follow!
