Contacts Basic Search problem with V4.5.0d Build 1168

Hi,

I just updated to V4.5.0d and all my users are upset because they can't perform Basic Searches on the Contacts.

whenever I try to search someone the whole contact list appears. Btw, the Advanced list seems to be working fine.

This was a functionality widely used on the previous versions.

What can I do, where can I start, I don't see other posts like this on the forum so must be something I can fix I presume.

Any clue will be widely appreciated.

Do you have a backup of your 'previous version'?
Referring to a full backup (copy) of the entire sugarcrm installation AND matching sql database?

Did you add a custom field to the Contacts module when you were using the previous version?
Does the same field (first name, last name, etc.) behave differently in the basic search and the advanced search?
Are the listview.html and listview.php the same as original ones in the Sugar package?

Yes I backed up all information before upgrading.

NO I did not crete a custom field

Yes same first name last name DO behave differently on basic and advanced search

I've never changed Listview.html and Listview.php, so I don't know.

Just in case it matters, I also have other modules loaded:

I'm not familiar with this module, but is there any chance that this module somehow modified the contact module in an unexpected manner?

I already reported this a problem last week as it happened to us as well and I've lodged this as a bug on the bugs website.

I have now solved this problem, because thankfully I had a backup copy of our system on another server. I went from 4.2 to 4.5C then to 4.5D and that worked.

I am having the same problem on 4.5e, except that 'advanced' searches dont work either.
As soon as I click 'search' on the advanced search tab, it dumps me back to the basic search tab.

This is affecting both Contacts and accounts (I havent checked the other modules)

So, to be clear, I have over 700 accounts... I enter part or all of an account name in the 'search' field ... and after clicking search ... no cahange - still 700 accounts on he list.

Are files under modules/Contacts the same as those in the 4.5.0 original package?

in our case the upgrade "broke" searchform.html - it actually removed the search and clear buttons in the file. I replaced those particular files and it seemed to fix it. I ran a diff on the folder to find out which files where different.

when we went from 4.21 to 4.5d it seemed to break several modules and we had to replace searchform in several placed. when we went from 4.5d to 4.5e it broke it in emailtemplates only.

The strange thing is that we have a backup and production server. the upgrades went fine on the backup server but broke on the production server.
