Problem

System creates a duplicate Contacts Custom table record each time I Save an edited Contacts file.

The steps:

Go to a Contact record

Edit the record

Save

When I go to the list of Contacts the Contact file will show two listings for the same Contact. Checking the MySQL tables there is only one record for that Contact, but there are now duplicate records of their Contacts Custom data. Deleting the duplicate record in the Contacts Custom table eliminates the problem.
