Contacts export fields not containing correct data

Hi,

I have a problem with my 5.5 installation, though this has been with me for a few revisions, I think ever since I installed ZuckerReports, then removed it again afterwards.

When I do an export of Contacts, and examine the data, some of the header columns, from about column AQ onwards (in Excel terms), are getting misaligned. There is a repeat of field "email1" there, and the other fields have then been moved to the right.

Once exported to a .csv file, importing applications like Word report that there aren't enough delimiters for each record - which kind of makes sense.

Question is, how can I rename/move these fields back to the way they were, so that my exports work again?

Please check your exported data fields.
If there are fields with quotes (") you will get some problems.

Check the export delimiter, it should be the same excel uses for csv-files.

Thanks for replying. I think the export fields got broken when I installed, then uninstalled ZuckerReports.

Export field delimiter is ",", and record delimiter is <cr>.

The issue is not to do with the way Excel translates the data, but with the way Sugar exports it. Is there a place in Sugar where I can control which fields are exported?

Just look to /include/export_utils.php

There you can set some logging statements to check the export process.

How would you modify the file /include/export_utils.php to display only the field display labels on the actual backend names? As well, how can you make it so only certain fields are only export in a custom module?
