    Default The Contacts Module ACL

I am new with SugarCRM, and I need some help.

I have added the Contacts module to our existing SugarCRM environment. I’ve also added some contact data as an admin, but the contact data doesn't get displayed for other non-admin users. I gave the full access to all users in role management and ran role management repair. The database tables for acl like acl_actions look OK to me, and it looks like everything is working normal except that it doesn't display the contact data for non-admin users even though everyone has the access. Unlike other SugarCRM implementations, the Contacts module is not linked to the Accounts module.

Is there anything that I need to do if the Contacts module is not link to the Accounts module?

    Thanks,
    RW

A little info about your install would be needed. Are you PRO or CE? When you say " have added the Contacts module to our existing SugarCRM environment" what do you mean? Contacts is a stock module, did you have it hidden before and are now trying to use it? If you are CE, do you have one of the 'teams' modules loaded?

We are running SugarPro Patch 5.2.0h. Yes, the Contacts module was hidden before, and I am trying to use it now without having the link to the Accounts module. The Teams module is not loaded.

If you are running SugarPRO then teams is loaded because it comes stock. So my guess is that the records in question either belong to a team that none of the users belong to or the records belong to no team at all. Either way the records (Contacts) would be visible only to the Admin.

Just look at one of the contacts and see what team it belongs to, then view one of your users and go to the 'Access' tab of the Users Detailview and see if they are a member of that team.

Here are the manual pages, and these too

Also, as support has ended for version 5.2.0 you should consider upgrading to a newer version. 5.2.0 is getting pretty old.

    Thank you very much, kbrill!!!

    I have two questions...

    1) So for the Contacts module, is it checking for both Role AND Team security?
    2) If I want to control security with Role only, should I make all records in Contacts part of the Global team?

    Thanks again,
    RW

I created a hook script to reassign the team to be Global for all Contact records, and it looks like it is working OK!

THANKS AGAIN for all your help, kbrill!!!

    1) Yes, but only for normal users not for Admins
    2) Yes, that is correct.
