Contacts not hyperlinked in Accounts

After importing accounts and contacts, the contact list inside of theaccounts tab is no longer linked to the contact detail screen...

contact list is now an unlinked list - where there was hyperlinks on each contact previously to access contact detail

our instance:


Sun AMD Opteron
Gentoo Linux
Sugar CRM v 4.5.0b
Apache 2.0.58
PHP 5.1.4
MySQL 4.1.21

so what am i missing??

Hmmm..., account names in contact file (file you are importing) should match account names you already have in your system. If match is found, Sugar creates a link between accounts and contacts. You probably have to check source files and re-import the data.

thanks for your response

unfortunately the condition persists, even on records added via the add account and add contacts forms on the user interface

am i gapping on an evironmental setting, been through them a few times - but i am a relative newbie - the odd thing is no settings were changed to cause the problem (unless the other admin is not owning up)

to sum up

i can no longer access the contact detail screen from the accounts screen - names show up - but they are not hyperlinked to the contacts page.

OK, have you modified Accounts and/or Contacts form? You could try to restrore following files from the original SugarCRM zip file. Remember to backup your existing versions.
