Default Accounts from Sybase SQL / ODBC database

Our busness is run via program that uses a Sybase SQL database. We would like to have all of the accounts in our current database available for lookup in the SugarCRM interface for scheduling call backs, sales leads etc. We DO NOT want SugarCRM to modify our existing database in any way, only read from it.

What is the easiest way to accomplish this?

You'd have to build some type of one way sync component that takes the data from Sybase system and inserts it into the Sugar database. That would seem to be the simplest way of doing it.

actually I suppose we would want the contacts to be handled as accounts. We have a large amount of individual customers.

I have built a php import script that reads a simple text file that specifies the ODBC data source, table, query and column mappings and inserts/updates records in any module in SugarCRM.

Mail me on sugarcrm@mjvn.net if you are interested.
